My biosketch: Compounding as a Service (CAAS)
My Bio:
I am pharmacist with over 20 years of experience! My educational journey began at the University of California, Davis, where I majored in Neurophysiology, and continued with a Doctorate in Pharmacy from MCPHS Boston 2005. While working as a clinical specialist at Sutter Health and Kaiser, I attended and earned a Master's degree in Health Care Administration from CSU East Bay, Hayward, CA. I am an active registered pharmacist (RPh) and Advanced Practice Pharmacist (APh) in the State of California. In 2011 and 2019 I founded Mariner Advanced Pharmacy (www.marinerpharmacy.com) and Universal Compounding Pharmacy (www.ucrxspecialty.com), respectively.
Throughout my career, I have embraced diverse roles that highlight my versatility and dedication to the specialty pharmacy practice. Serving as consultant in compliance, a compounding specialist, a community pharmacist, I have been instrumental in founding and consulting my clients. My contributions to the field include serving on the national Advisory Council for the Professional Compounding Center of America (PCCA) and engaging as a member and guest speaker for the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA), the California Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP), and serving as the Compounding Task Force for CSHP.
In recognition of my commitment to innovation and collaboration, I was honored with the George Roentsch Award in 2016, a prestigious accolade that celebrates outstanding contributions to the art and science of compounding. I co-authored various clinical trial and successfully published in various renowned medical journals.
My professional endeavors extend beyond traditional pharmacy practice into the realms of research and development. I have consulted on over 20 IRB-approved clinical trials in collaboration with renowned medical schools and researchers, contributing to advancements in compounding formulations and compliance. My work in this area includes acquiring and formulating investigational drug products, conducting stability testing, overseeing compounding operations, managing randomization procedures, and ensuring timely dispensing within budgetary constraints. As a consultant and co-investigator on numerous university- and NIH-funded projects, I have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to achieving research objectives through meticulous planning, execution, and teamwork.
In summary, my career reflects a harmonious blend of clinical practice, research, and education, underscored by a steadfast commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession. My training, expertise, and collaborative spirit equip me to make meaningful contributions to any initiative aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing pharmaceutical science.
